Kankakee County is proud to have been recognized statewide recently for our commitment to energy efficiency.In May 2025, the County Board approved LED lighting upgrades and motion-sensing technology at three county facilities. While the total project cost was $174,283.42, strategic use of ComEd energy efficiency incentives reduced the county’s local investment to $32,485.82.The results speak for themselves. Kankakee County Board Announces New President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County
Kankakee County, Illinois – Kankakee County Board Chairman Matthew Alexander-Hildebrand is pleased to announce that Angela Morrey has been named President and CEO of the Economic Alliance of Kankakee County. Angela previously served as the organization’s Vice President of Business Development and Director of Marketing and Business Attraction.
As President and CEO, Angela will be responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of the Economic Alliance. Her work will include collaborating closely with board members, investors, stakeholders, elected officials, educational partners, vendors, local and statewide agencies, regional economic development organizations, and other partners to drive business and economic growth throughout Kankakee County.
Chairman Alexander-Hildebrand stated, “Angela is the perfect leader to take Kankakee County into its next chapter of growth. Her passion for this community, combined with her strategic insight and deep understanding of economic development, will help unlock the full potential of our region and position us for lasting success.”
In addition to her role as President and CEO, Angela is actively involved in several professional and community organizations, including the Will-Kankakee Regional Development Authority, Community Foundation of Kankakee River Valley, Kankakee County CEO, Kankakee Riverfront Society, Kankakee Development Corporation, and United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties.
Angela holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Spanish from Northern Illinois University and has completed multiple professional development programs through the International Economic Development Council.
